Tuff Miles Results Super Bowl Sunday was a hit. I think it was the most people ever! Turned out to be Moe and Toni's one year anniversary. Congratulations!
On June 30th we had
the 2006 St John Commodore's Cup Race which we hosted. This years 3
day Commodore's Cup race kicked off on June 30th with the Captain's
Meeting and Welcome Party was at 6:30 pm at Skinny Legs. This year We
added an Optimist race for the kids. Our own Sarah won the raffle drawing
a 10'6" AB Inflatible with a 15hp Yamaha Engine. Which was perfect
as she worked hard to make this race a success. All proceeds for this
event benefit the Kids and the Sea (KATS) program of St John. Here at
Skinny Legs we have always supported childrens programs. With all of our
support, todays children have a better chance of living a quality life
tomorrow. Locally, Skinny Legs supports several programs. The Kids And
The Sea (KATS) program is our pet project. Check it out at 'kidsandthesea.homestead.com'.
Many of the people you see hanging out at Skinnys are now and have been
the volunteers who teach the children in the KATS program. Robin, Cat,
Jen and all the rest of the volunteers are just phenomenal.
Some of our favorite
people in Coral Bay are Dorothy and Peter Muileburg owner of "Breath".
Many of you have sailed with them through the years. Peter now has a
book out you won't want to miss. Click

on a Sea of Blue Light"
June 4th - Coral
Bay Open - One of the most fun days at Skinny Legs. It was a fund raiser
to help Steve Levin pay for medical bills from his accident when his
heavy equipment rolled over on him awhile back. Glad to say that Steve
is much better now. Fun was had by all.. Click
here to see.
Congratulations

We are all very proud of you! Toni and I went to Boston (April 11 to 18) where I ran the Boston Marathon on April 17, 2006. It was my sixth marathon, and I am very grateful for the good health that allows me to do so. Moe likes to run.
Now Moe is supporting 'dmsesports.com'
with its efforts to encourage physical fitness for children, families
and their communities. DMSEsports through AIM (Americans In Motion)
has launched a nationwide grassroots network to encourage physical
fitness. Please check out Moe ran the Boston Marathon April 17th and is running the Portland Oregon Marathon on October 1st. With these runs, Moe would like to ask for your support for these programs. Please check out their sites and if you feel inclined, any donation will help. Thank you all for your support and thank for just checking us out. Sad days at Skinny Legs. Our beloved Doug Sica has passed away. On Wednesday March 22nd, 2006 Dougie left our physical world. He is sadly missed by all of us here at Skinny Legs, St. John and around the world. Many will remember Doug from the Backyard Bar in Cruz Bay where he worked for 12 years. The Backyard Bar was synonymous with Doug Sica. Doug and I (Moe) opened Skinny Legs together in 1991. Those of us who were fortunate enough to know him got to know a truly wonderful human being. Doug has a warm, loving, compassionate spirit. That spirit has touched many and is in large part why Skinny Legs has enjoyed such success. Doug’s spirit lives in each of us. Click here to check our web pages and enjoy his life with us. On the kids pages you’ll see Doug making funny faces with kids. They were lucky kids. In our guest book you’ll hear from friends both old and new. We miss his smiling face. His ‘Sit up straight’. Giving kids ‘noogies’. Standing at the end of the bar and just watching the action. I can see him wearing the big tool belt, knee pads and the long socks over them skinny legs. Did you know that sometimes he wore rubber bands around the knee socks to hold them up because his legs were so skinny or the elastic was losing its grip? Many years we have spent together. Many memories shared. He remains a part of us, of me, forever. Thanks to all of our friends who have written and called. Right now, it’s difficult to think of other things, but we must. Life is full of every thing. Joy, sadness, happiness, frustrations, anticipation, all emotions. We continue, as we should. A huge Thank You to Jean (aka mean
jean) for all her wonderful work
