Again
Welcome to our website.

Here's some info which we hope will make your visit a bit more pleasant.

We moved to St John because the people were warm and friendly. We still are. But you know that friend or cousin who always borrows stuff and then forgets that it's yours? Well, there are a few people around who think it's OK if they borrow your stuff without asking. Not many, but it only takes one to screw up a vacation. So, what do you do? Well, leave the tiaras at home. You're here to relax. And you look best when your relaxed, smiling and a bit tanned. When at the beach, don't bring the family jewels. Have someone watch your stuff when snorkeling or hiking. If you're at a hotel, guesthouse or private home, ask for an ID of any repair or service person. Basically, use some common sense.

What do you really need to bring  to the islands.
The consensus amongst our staff is, Not Much. Except that is for $$$.
Have the credit cards empty for the unexpected shopping. St John is special for it's day life, not it's night life. So bulk up on shorts and t-shirts or buy a Skinny Legs ensemble. Don't forget the flip flops or sandals, extra bathing suits. Women should have bathing suits with different straps for the complete tan. Or if you're not going to wear a top, let us know which beach you're going to in which case we'll bring the extra sunscreen you'll be needing . Also, bring a light sheer top, a hat, A sheer wrap is real cool. If you'll be dining out, one or two casual island fancy outfits. Don't over pack because you'll probably be doing some shopping while you're here. Bring your Passport. The Virgin Islands are a U.S. something or other, we can't get it straight-a territory of some sort. You may decide to visit the BVI which is a cool trip. Also, you'll need your passport to return to the mainland.

All of us at Skinny Legs are just like you. We like people to treat us well when we travel. We hope you check us out and even if you don't, enjoy your stay.

When it's raining.
Oh no, it's raining. Now what are we going to do? There's no shopping malls on St John but there is a lot to do. If you're on your honeymoon, then have fun. We'll leave you alone. If you have kids, good luck. Everybody else, well what better to do than to go to Skinny Legs and hang out with Mean Jean. But on the way, you can:
1.
Tour the island. Explore some of the ruins. There's Annaberg, Catherinberg, Cinnamon Bay, Caneel Bay. There are many, including our library in Cruz Bay.
2.
Get wet. The rain is acid free. We enjoy the fresh water rinse and believe me, some of us can sure use it. Take pictures in the rain and at the beach.
3.
You can always go snorkeling. Hey, you're wet anyway and the fish aren't going anywhere.
4.
Check out the shops. It's a good time to go shopping. We have some cool shops by Skinny Legs.
5.
Do a casual lunch. You'll probably meet some other visitors with better ideas than ours.
6.
Lay in a hammock and read a book, nod out, wake up, read some more, nod out, wake up, have a snack, have something to drink, read some more. Don,t do anything, just lay there.
7.
Get your nails done. She can and he can come visit us.
8.
Take a hike. It may get a bit muddy, but Ilike it. Reef Bay is a nice hike in the rain. It's cool and you may see running water. But make sure you bring water and a snack. Hike from Annaberg to Lienster Bay and further. There are many trails of various lenghts and difficulties. Get out there.
9.
Any other ideas, let us know so we can share them.

Did you know that there are five wind mill sugar mills on St John? Have you seen a Danish bridge? They're there.
